Organization, Data Quality and BSM are key pit stops on the road to BAM

During the late 90´s till today, we have seen the prevalence of the letter e. e was being added to everything. eBusiness, eCare, Siebel Systems even hosted eDinners. In my mind e related to technology, and this was indicative of the time; we were dragging everything down to a technical, technology level. More recently, we have seen increased initiatives and activities in the areas of;
  • Business Activity Monitoring (BAM)
  • Business Service Management (BSM)
  • Business Process Management (BPM)
  • Business Intelligence (BI)

B is back! B means Business! Finally we are dragging enterprise issues back up to the level it belongs, the Business level.

This article will continue to define one of the most interesting of these initiatives, Business Activity Monitoring(BAM) and will define and expand on three key inhibitors to the success of any BAM initiative.
